‘Other big actresses were offered this role. But they supported me. They said – no, if we accept this proposal, we feel it is wrong. We cannot do this. Either they do the work or forgive us. We will not do it on someone’s request. This was the time when my respect for all of them increased. I think one of them was Madhuri. I have no idea about the others. But there were other actresses too.’
The actress said that she was thrown out of the film because she refused director Rajkumar Santoshi’s marriage proposal. But then the film producers took her back and the film became a hit.
She also said- ‘I and Rajkumar Santoshi had decided to keep quiet about it. Damini was a big film and I respect everyone who worked in it. Especially Rajkumar Santoshi whose vision was so clear.’

It is known that the actress married banker Harish Mysore in 1997. Harish proposed to her over the phone. After marriage, she left the industry and shifted to America with him.
